Oneida County is currently accepting applications for two LTE positions with the Oneida County Land & Water Conservation Department’s AIS Program. These positions include an AIS Project Assistant for 600 hours at $12.00/hour and an AIS Lead Project Assistant for 1000 hours at $14.00/hour. Mileage reimbursement is provided. Applicants must be willing to work Memorial Day, July 4th, Saturdays, and Sundays. These positions assist the AIS Coordinator with planning and implementation of the Oneida County AIS program for prevention and control of AIS in Oneida County. Applicants will gain experience in AIS monitoring, management, and educational outreach.
2017 projects may include: Clean Boats Clean Waters (CBCW) watercraft inspections, lead/participate in student and adult educational field events and workshops, develop and distribute outreach material, update blog/website, newsletter articles, AIS management, Purple Loosestrife beetle biocontrol project, restore AIS-affected sites, perform AIS early detection monitoring, mapping and data collection on county waterbodies, provide professional level monitoring reports, assist WDNR with monitoring projects, and photograph activities and events. Start date is negotiable.
