Midwest Natural Resources (MNR) is seeking applicants for a seasonal field position with a wetland focus. Applicants must have basic experience with the field identification of the regional flora, other aspects of field biology, and/or soils for the Upper Midwest or Great Plains. This position may become permanent based on projected workload and employees abilities.
Qualifications include: • An academic background in natural resources (BS or higher with degrees in botany, soils, plant ecology, or wetlands ecology), strong technical writing, field experience, GIS/GPS coursework, with analytical skills a plus. Undergrads may be considered depending on qualifications.
Further job requirements include: • Wetland delineation experience
• Experience with dichotomous keys • Knowledge of Minnesota and Wisconsin flora
• Experience with soil sampling • Technical writing • Working knowledge of ESRI software and GPS equipment • Good communication skills • Ability to work in extreme weather • Enjoyment of the outdoors • Ability to work long hours in the field • Works well within a team setting • Travel for extended periods of time throughout the field season • Must live or be willing to live in the Twin Cities metro region • Must have a valid driver’s license To apply, please send a cover letter, resume, a list of pertinent coursework, and three professional references.
