Position Summary: You will be responsible for administering and ensuring consistent implementation of the statewide compliance, enforcement, and emission inventory program of the Air Management Program within the Environmental Management Division.

The responsibilities of this position include directing long-range planning and policy initiatives, conducting budget and operational planning and implementation, allocating resources, directing team operations and supervising employees, and assessing and improving program efficiency and effectiveness. You will be responsible for coordinating compliance, enforcement, and emission inventory activities with other Department programs, Wisconsin's Indian Tribes, industry, other state agencies, local government, and the federal government. This position is responsible for fostering and managing relationships with these partners and customers. The Section Chief serves as an advisor to the Air Management Program Director on emerging issues of a regional, national, or global nature and as a member of the Air Management Team to coordinate budgets, prepare work plans, make staff assignments, establish program objectives and priorities, and evaluate progress in meeting the objectives of the Air Management Program. This position represents the state on national and regional groups developing policies that affect air pollution compliance strategies for all states.

Qualifications: Required qualifications include experience working in a scientific or environmental position and experience providing leadership in some capacity.

Preferred candidates will have a related engineering background and experience managing relationships with external partners or stakeholders in the regulated community.
