Description of Work
Watercraft inspectors travel to boat ramps in the surrounding area to teach anglers and boaters how to prevent the spread of Aquatic Invasive Species. The inspector coordinator will coordinate the scheduling and activities of the inspectors to ensure the project goals are met.
Primary coordinator duties include:
• Ensure inspectors are trained
• Handle scheduling and oversight of the inspectors
• Assist with collections of time sheets, data sheets, and distribution and collection of supplies.
The coordinator will collect data sheets from the inspectors, ensure the data is entered into SWIMS bi-weekly. The coordinator will work largely in the Lake Michigan basin (six inspectors). Scheduling for the coordinator is flexible but will require work on weekdays and weekends. Experience supervising and coordinating employees is required.
The coordinator will be required to schedule and participate in a training session, and lead periodic conference calls during to ensure consistency in boat inspections, cleaning procedures and reporting out on the data. The coordinator will be based remotely but will need to travel to Manitowoc periodically.

Hours and Pay Rate
20 hours/week. May to October. Watercraft Inspector Coordinator is paid $16.00-20.00 / hr for time and the current state mileage rate ($0.51 / mile) for distance traveled to and from the ramps or rental car provided. Time sheets are submitted every two weeks. Travel reimbursement report submitted every month.
