Director of Carbon and Sustainability

Come join the company’s Environmental Sustainability team to head up Microsoft’s carbon work in the context of the company’s overall sustainability program. As we enter the second 5 years of carbon neutrality, and as cloud computing continues to advance both in scale and performance capabilities, the company is looking for someone to join the team to help us define and execute on the next five years of our and our customers’ carbon journey.





The role will require a combination of business, technical, strategic and carbon expertise. The candidate will be able to work with customers, partners, internal groups, external advisors and influencers to create and drive the company’s strategy and plans for expanding the impact of both our carbon neutral commitments and broader range of carbon-based priorities.


The ideal candidate will have demonstrated technical and business project success, and be comfortable operating in a role of influence to help drive cross-company initiatives which advance the state of our own and our customers’ carbon work. A deep understanding of carbon markets is important as is the ability to work with standards agencies, partners, and technical teams. Public presentation experience and a strong network of relationships that can add to the company’s success and impact are also desired.





Required Experience:


• BS/BA degree required, Masters Preferred


• 2+ years of work experience with Energy or Carbon Markets


• 8+ years work related experience in the carbon markets, environmental sustainability, or energy space.
